It’s going to be a BLAST … of color!

This Color Fun Run is for students, parents, families, and friends of all ages and abilities.
Runners will run (or walk) as many laps as they can while getting dusted with colored powder.
Participants can run 1 lap or 30. It’s up to you! This will be a super fun blast of color!

A few reminders:
· Wear your Color Run t-shirt that was sent home in November – or a plain white t-shirt.
· You will be receiving a new color wristband – these will be sent home the week of March 22nd.
· Please email Coach Kahlie at kabrahams@libertyprepnc.com if you had signed up for the November run but are unable to join us on March 27th.
· Start collecting those pledges!

FAQ’S

How does the pledge form work, and is it required?  While we do not require the pledge form for participation, we do strongly encourage it.  Students should print their pledge form and reach out to family and friends to gather pledges for the number of laps completed.  This gives the students a goal to work towards, and it helps to raise money for our athletic department.

Ex. Grandma donates $2 for every lap complete.  If the student completes 8 laps, then grandma would donate $16.  It’s a small ask that can help in a huge way!

 

How far is a lap? The length of the lap will be close to 400meters or ¼ mile.  We want this to be achievable for the littles, allow us room for the participants to spread out, and still give those who want to compete for distance a chance to run some mileage.

 

What do I wear? We recommend wearing white/light colors and preferably older clothing/shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty (and potentially stained).  Our race t-shirt this year will be white so that you can wear that at the race too!  With colored powder being thrown everywhere, you might want to bring some sunglasses and/or a mask.

 

What should I bring?  We recommend bringing a change of clothes and an old towel for after the race is finished.  There will be bathroom stalls available to change.

 

Is the color powder safe and/or allergy-friendly?  Yes, it is totally safe!  The color powder has been used in festivals for years!  It is made of corn starch, food and cosmetic dyes, and baking soda.  The color powder is gluten-free and does not contain dairy, nuts, wheat, soy, or any other common allergens.

 

What are the COVID-19 procedures?  Since this is a running/athletic event that is outdoors, we are not requiring masks be worn.  We do ask that you are respectful of others’ space and social distance from groups outside of your own.  In the reminder email with all details, we will ask that you take your temperature prior to attending, and stay home if you are exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19.

 

Is there a time limit? We do not have a set time limit, but we expect most participants to finish running by 10am.  We will begin recognizing our winners no later than 10am.

 

Are there winners/places for age groups? We will be recognizing LPCA house winners for the most participants and the most money raised.  We will also recognize winners in the area of most laps completed (based on age groups).

 

How will laps be counted/tracked? We have volunteers available that will add a tally every lap you run.

 

What is the weather policy?  In the event of rain, we will reschedule.

 

How will funds be collected after the race? Once you have completed as many laps as possible, you will stop by the registration table and we will provide you with your certificate stating the number of laps completed and a copy of your pledge form packet to collect the pledges.
