Bio: Rachel is a native North Carolinian born and raised in the small town of Shelby. Married in 2006, she has lived in Mooresville since 2010 with her husband, Philip, and two daughters, who both attend Liberty Prep. Rachel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University where she was an NC Teaching Fellow and a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has 4 years of teaching experience in an elementary school setting and 3 years of school counseling experience in a large public high school setting. She has been working as the High School Academic Counselor at Liberty Prep since 2018. Rachel loves working with students regarding college/career planning and readiness, as well as providing academic support to them. She enjoys working with upper-grade students at LPCA from a faith-based perspective, as this is something that is very important in her own life as a source of encouragement and hope.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys hiking, reading, spending time with family, and singing with her husband. She also loves visiting our country's National Parks and being outdoors. Her perspective on life is that she is abundantly blessed and seeks to be a blessing to others.
