Mooresville, NC (April 2018) – Onslow County farmer, Amy Rhodes, directed a $2,500 grant to Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy as part of America’s Farmers Grow Communities program, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
As part of their mission, Liberty Prep, the only University-Model® school in the Lake Norman region, will use the funds to purchase new Chromebooks for their students. “As our school enrollment has grown, there is a pressing need for new computers for our students so that we can meet the technological needs of our expanding student body and stay competitive in our region,” said Amie Weir, Head Administrator. “We are so grateful to Amy Rhodes for selecting our school to receive this donation.”
“Farmers play a pivotal role in rural communities, and through their commitment to the Grow Communities program, we are able to provide the monetary support these nonprofit organizations need to make an impact,” said Al Mitchell, Monsanto Fund president. “We’re proud to play a part in helping these rural communities grow and thrive.”
